Traditional calligraphy is a creative space replete with inspirational quotes, bible passages, and wedding invitations. My practice material has instead always included classic hip-hop lyrics, quotes from my favorite trashy reality TV series, and otherwise crude or unexpected sentiments which fill my practice pages, Instagram account, and on-again, off-again Etsy shop.
